It was just the press minterpreting what she said. English not being her first language, she had said something like, Matthew's character plays a yuppie jerk in the movie and that his dad is also cast as the his dad in the movie. It was perfect casting or something like that. This was written as her calling Matthew a jerk. He retorted saying that she doesn't know English well enough and that isn't what she meant. Then she said that she was talking about his character and the comment about his dad was separate from that. Did that make sense? :)
