Eastern Outboard Racing Club members cleaned up at the AOF East Coast Nationals at the Thompson Reservoir in Thompson, CT on Saturday and Sunday, July 12 and 13, hosted by the Connecticut Outboard Association.
Though it was quite windy on Saturday and not the best of conditions, overall it was a great weekend of racing resulting in many locals placing in the top three in their classes.
Saturday Results (AOF East Coast Short Course Nationals):
Pete Voss of Aquebogue took first in SER/500 Runabout. The 25XS class found three local guys winning the top spots: David Young of Aquebogue, first; Doug Pearsall of Jamesport, second and Dave W. Young of Jamesport winning third. George Luce of East Quogue took second in FEH/250 and Dave W. Young won first in A Hydro. While the following racers did win, they did not take a national championship because the minimum boat requirement was not met: Mike Young, of Jamesport, took first in A stock runabout. Paul Sumereau, of Northport, took third in C Mod Hydro. B Hydro was won by Howard Pickerell, of Water Mill, while Ken Terry, from Huntington took second. Dave W. Young won first in B Runabout.
Sunday Results (Connecticut Outboard Association):
David Young of Aquebogue took first in 25XSH, Annette Weber 2nd and Doug Pearsall came in third. Dave W. Young enjoyed another win in B Stock Runabout, while Dave Young and Howie Pickerell took first and second in A Stock Hydro. Howard Pickerell won B Stock Hydro and Ken Terry took second. George Luce won second and Don Rusnak took third in SER/500R. Paul Sumereau placed third in C Mod Hydro. George Luce took second in FEH/250H
