*lingers on her for a moment, then turns his attention to the sapling. in a couple of quick strokes it is cut down. he knows that it can still grow again because the roots were deep. he turns around and sits on the ground, cutting the small branches away from the main one and smoothing out the edges. he cuts a small notch in the top and bottom of it, then takes out a spare string he had and ties it around both notches and into a curve shape. he walks over to a stream and places it in the water and puts a few rocks on it to hold it under. he stands up and walks over to her. he sits beside her and studies the dagger, not interrupting her work.*
