Yes, the dog park is open. I just started taking my dog to the park and yes, it is very safe. There isn't a lot around the park which I like and it is completely fenced in. There are two gates that you have to go through to get into the park area so that the dogs aren't let out. It's a really good park. To get a membership, you need to go to the Animal Aid Clinic-South in Elkhart on Mishawaka Rd. They will have you fill out some papers and take a copy of the vaccinations. The fee is $25.
