 The police gave a demonstration of what type of work their dogs do. One sniffed out drugs, another found an item that a human had touched (so if someone threw away something as they were running from the police the dog could find it)

There is a fence around the pond. It has a gate so dogs cannot get into it unless the owners want them to.
