Thanks for commenting on this board. Sorry I haven't been around much lately. My dad died over a year ago, which is when I started this board. The board never really got going, which is okay.

One thing someone told me while I was going through it all is that it will get better. You will feel better. You may not even believe it right now, but you will. At the time, I really didn't believe him, but I tried to trust those words. And he was right. Although there is still a missing place inside me where my dad should be, time somehow helps you move on. I don't think about him as much, except in the occasional fond way. You just sort of adapt to that person's being gone.

But for a while, I did not do very well. I quit my job. I was taking Paxil and Xanax almost every day. What helped me was to start exercising. I started running every couple of days, and that seemed to help me get rid of some of the stress.

Anyway, I don't know if you ever check this board now, but if so, I'd be happy to share anything I've learned through this experience.

Thanks,
Ben
