Subject: The Psion Speaketh

A psion uses the inherent power of his mind and body to accomplish feats similar to 'magic'... Psionics isn't magic, however, as there's an important difference between the two... Magic "energy" (some would refer to it as mana or something similar) is an external force usually if not exclusively drawn from one's surroundings. Magic strain (what causes a mage to get tired) is due to the mage having to channel this energy (through usually what we refer to as prepping) into either themself or a target. Psionic "energy" is an internal force drawn directly from the psion's body and mind. Since psions draw their energy directly out of themselves, there is very little time needed to "prep" unless its something complicated they're trying to accomplish. Psionic strain is due to the energy of the psion's mind and body depleting. Most psions are born with an inherent trait to be able to tap into the power within themselves and the part of their brain that the rest of the populace doesn't use or know how to use. If you want, I can explain further, but I think what I typed above gives the gist of what psionic powers are...
