Thank you for asking for more clarification on that. When I say that a departed spirit can use an animal as a "proxy", it is to say that they can communicate most commonly with a bird, a cardinal, for example, and tell it to go near their loved ones as a reminder that they are there with them. Or to a butterfly, or any BEAUTIFUL, benevolent animal as a sheep which some have also seen appear. Because the human condition is such that seeing an actual object causes an immediate mental imprint of it, the mind registers the object and thought more clearly and it is thus longer-lasting. Spirit realizes that our loved ones can be happy and accept that appearance as something to remind them of them. Therefore, they use the benevolent animal as a sort of "proxy" in that it helps them from having to expend extra energy in lowering their vibration to enter the Earth plane. Of course, God has given departed spirits the ability to enter here at any time, but some may not be as developed as others to know how to do it without placing greater effort into the process, thus they can more easily communicate with a bird for a proxy. It must be clearly understood that Spirit would, of course, never use an animal like a snake, spider, or any other animal that is not normally associated with *benevolence* for this purpose!

Likewise, departed spirit can use mental communication (telepathy) with you to cause you to look up towards the sky and see a rainbow which would also remind you of them and make you feel good, in that you can know that they are thinking of you. That's because they are! The same goes for the finding of a penney, an inanimate object, as previously discussed.

One more thing, I mentioned in another posting that spirit can appear to those who see "sparkles" and flashes of light. The spirit of our departed beloved can appear as a flash of Blue and White Light (*the blue part inside of and surrounded by the white) that you can see for an instant. To those who can see such flashes of light around them, that will be a good way for them to know that their loved ones' spirit is there with them! [* The blue appearing to be the spirit and the white representing the purity of Heaven where they now reside. Also note that The Virgin Mary, the Mother of Jesus Christ, is always dressed/dresses in Blue and White! I also have pictures of when and where she has actually appeared before men which I would be glad to describe for anyone who is interested. She *does* make regular visits to Earth.]

And yes, our loved ones can indeed show us where they are at if they choose to. I have seen many wonderful places that would simply mystify the human mind simply because there is nothing on Earth to compare with what is being shown in order to understand it better. But know that the colors are usually richer, more vibrant and breathtakingly beautiful in nature and so are the surroundings. That is one way one can know that what spirit is showing you is actually part of a Heavenly visit.
