They all set up the dining room and waited for Nelly's parents when the doorbell rang.

Ding dong

They all sat there not moving until....

Senthaye`:[getting up] Well I guess I will get it since everyone wants to be lazy.

She opens the door.

Senthaye`: Hello I'm Mrs. Escalante`, but you can call me Senthaye`. Please come in.
Mr. & Mrs. Haynes: Thank you. [they walk inside]
Cornell: Hello I'm Mr. Haynes. But call me Cornell.
Mrs. Haynes: And I'm Mrs. Haynes.(I don't know her first name so I'm making one up) But please call me Airykah(Erica).
Senthaye`: And this is my husband Miquel Escalante`.
Miquel: Hi. It's nice to finaly meet you two. Our children have been together for quite some time now.
Airykah: Same here. Chelle seems like a nice young lady.
Senthaye`: Thank you. Well there is a reason for the two of you being here. But we'll get into that after dinner.

They all head into the dining room to eat. At the dinner table everyone was quiet. Finally Nelly's father spoke up.

Cornell: I would just like to know why after 5 years are we being called over to meet you two? Is something wrong?

Miquel and Senthaye` look at each other and everyone else does the same before looking at Nelly and Chelle.

Airykah: Nelly, honey, what's going on?
Nelly: Why don't we go into the living room so we can discuss this a little more privately.
Bee: I don't know why y'all wanna go a lil more private when we already know what's going on.
Miquel: Brit hush. Now please let us have some privacy so we can talk to Nelly's mother and father.
Chelle: Papi why don't you take your anger out on me and not Brit. I mean you already know that I'm the person you're angry with so just stop taking it out on other people!!!! Brit had nothing to do with any of this. All she did was help to try to make it easier on you and mami and Mr. & Mrs. Haynes. So take your anger out on me but not my lil sister!!!!!
Miquel: Who do you think you are yelling at young lady?
Chelle: You since that's the only way you know how to communicate when something doesn't go quite like you planned it!!!! I'm tired of always having to be the one that says something to you when you make things worse than they really are!!!! And it seems that nothing that your children do is good enough. I was Validictorian(?) of my class along with Lami and that still wasn't good enough for you!!! I don't know what you want from me but I'm tired of this. I'm gone.[she got up to leave]
Miquel: You aren't going anywhere!!! You are going to sit down and tell these people that you've trapped their son!!!!!
Nelly: Wait a minute. I wasn't going to say anything at first because it was between you and Chelle. But now I have to say something. Chelle did not trap me. Yes we did make a mistake but this baby is not a mistake. I love Chelle and I know that she loves me. We've been together for 5 years moving on 6 and I am totally committed to your daughter as is she to me. So no one is trapping anyone. And as I said before if you want to take your anger out on Chelle take it out on me too because I helped make the baby. She didn't do it on her own.
Cornell: So you got her pregnant huh? Damn Nelly I told you about this. Don't you know how old I was when your mother got pregnant with you?
Nelly: Yes dad you two were 17 & 19. But you two were in love. No different from Chelle & I. I love Chelle and I plan to marry her.
Miquel: Oh so you think that marrying her is going to make it all better huh? Well it's not. You're going to get married alright. Before anyone finds out that she was pregnant before you two got married too.
Airykah: Now I don't see how rushing them into a marriage is going to solve anything. I think we should all sit down and think about this rationally.
Senthaye`: I agree. [turning to the kids] Kids could you please give us some time so we can talk about this?
All: Yeah. [and they got up to leave.]
Miquel: Well I still think they should get married because this would look bad for our family name and most of all me.
Chelle: Is that all you care about? Our family name and you? I mean papi abuela was 16 when she had you. And your sister was 15 when she had Brit(Sweet). As far as the family name it's shot. No disrespect or anything but stop saying that everything is bad for you and your last name. It's my last name too and I'm proud of it. But you are so worried about yourself and no one else that you don't see what you're doing to your kids. Bee can hardly stand the fact that she has to stay here with you by herself with no one to talk to. And Nay Nay she's glad she's living at the dorm to get away from you and your "I am the most important person in the world" attitude. As for me and Lami well let's just say that 2 years out of this house where you are has been paradise, because there isn't that much room for 4 kids, Mami, and you and your humungous ego attitude. So instead of worrying about yourself so much worry about your family for once. And as far as OUR baby, Nelly and mine's, we're keeping the baby and that's final. Yes we will get married but not right away. We don't want to rush into anything even though we love each other. So as far as we are concerned and our baby we've made our minds up. And we're going through with it whether you like it or not. We were just telling you 4 that you all were going to be abuelos because it was the right thing to do. Now I can't even stay in the same house with you I'm going back to my dorm. Good bye. [and she left.]
Nelly:[looking at Miquel] I hope you're very happy now that you've made her feel like that. [and left going after Chelle. His mother tried to stop him but he kept going.]
Senthaye`: Miquel why did you have to go and do that? That's your oldest daughter for Christ sake. You could've at least considered what they had decided. [goes after Chelle]
Cornell: Well I guess this little meeting is over. Come on Airykah. It was nice meeting you though. Maybe the next time we see each other it'll be under better circumstances ey?
Miquel: Yeah I guess.
Airykah: Well kids it was nice seeing you all again. I made some brownies and cookies so come by and get some okay?
Kids: Okay.
Cornell/Airykah: Bye.
Kids: Bye.[they left the house to go back home.]

W/Chelle, Nelly, & Senthaye`

Chelle: I just blew up. I didn't mean for it to come out like that. I was just holding it all inside for so long. I mean I think I should've did that when your parents weren't there. Now they probably think that we're some kinda disfuctional family. They probably won't even want to have anything to do with me or the baby after tonight.
Nelly: Baby I don't care what they think, okay? I love you more than anything in this world and they can't change that ok?
Chelle:[smiling] I love you. [they kiss] Now what will my dad have to say when we see each other again?

Senthaye` walks up to them.

Senthaye`: Mija are you okay?
Chelle: Yeah mami. I'm fine. Que` haca decir papi?[What did Papi say?]
Senthaye`: Nada. He just stood there looking surprised that you said that to him.
Chelle: Well somebody had to tell him at sometime. I mean it doesn't even seem like he cares about us at times.
Nelly: I think he does care and love you guys. He just has a hard way may of expressing it. Kinda like you did before.
Senthaye`: Nelly's right baby. He never really had a love from a male when he was growing up so he doesn't really know how to express his feelings.
Chelle: Yo se` y Lo siento.[I know and I'm sorry.] It's just that my hormones are raging and all of this was just building up inside of me.
Senthaye`: Yo se` bebe`. [I know baby.] But I really think that you should go back in and talk to him.
Chelle: Naw I need some time to think. I just can't deal with all of this right now. I really need to just be alone I think right now.
Senthaye`: Okay baby. Call me if you need anything okay?
Chelle: Okay mami. Te amo.[I love you]
Senthaye`: Te amo tambien.[I love you too] Bye Nelly.
Nelly: Bye Mrs. Escalante`.

Senthaye` goes back inside and Nelly takes Chelle back to her dorm.
