Subject: Glen Cook books

Anybody want to share anything about the Black Company books?

I've only read the last trilogy, that is, (I forget the first one), She is the Darkness, and Water Sleeps.

They were magnificent - I didn't feel left out by not reading the ones before, and each book was a solid entity, but together they were a powerful chronicle.
The Black Company kicks ass - not because they are always the most powerful, but because they are the most cunning, the fiercest and most stalwart foes in the entire universe.
And Cook's books vary viewpoint and subject matter enough to stay interesting, without all the claptrap traditional fantasy is bound by - the characters seem true to life, while being larger than life.

Anyway, Init. Kubeta and Capt. Moonbiter were just discussing books below in the "An ICQ meeting perhaps?" thread, I just thought I should start a separate thread.
