I have a 8.5 411 posi out of a 77elcamino. It is 54 inches backing plate to backing plate 3 inches to long for a 78 or 79 malibu. the control arm bolts are in the same spot and the spring mounts and shock mounts are different. you would need to run a coil over set up
make a offer or i would like to trade for a 454 or 468 short block
