Subject: '79 Malibu w/bbc street/strip top notch car

Frame-off restoration. Body stripped to bare metal & repainted in PPG aquamarine 2 stage paint. Stock steel body except for Glasstek 5" cowl hood (hinged) and Harwood f/g front bumper. All stock OEM safety glass. All new weatherstrip as well.

Full interior including '87 Buick GN dash. Full Autometer Pro-Comp & Ultra-lite gauges. Art Morrison 10 point mild steel roll cage (fully TIG welded), swing out door bars, Deist window net, Simpson 5 way Cam lock belts, Turbo Action Cheetah SCS shifter.

12 bolt rear with Mark Williams 35 spline axles & spool, 11/16" drive studs, billet caps (both sides), Mark Williams billet 12 bolt captured bearing housing ends (no-c-clip eliminators to leak), 1350 series billet pinion yoke, LPW aluminum girdle cover, stock (rebuilt/new) drum brakes. Rear frame rails have been notched 1" and the inner wheel wells mini-tubbed for additional tire clearance.

Bolt-on suspension upgrades including Hotchkis lower control arms & triangulation braces, custom designed & built upper control arms & instant center relocation brackets, Wolfe Rcecraft anti-roll bar.

Front suspension has been fully rebuilt with all new tie rods, idler arm, center link, bushings, and Moroso trick springs, Lakewood 90/10 shocks.

Trans is a competition th400 with Alto red clutches, Kolene steels, rollerized rear thrust, 34 element aftermarket sprag, ATI reverse pattern manual valve body, GM deep trans pan, CSI carbon Fiber "Super Shield". ATI 8" Treemaster converter, flashes to 5200 rpm. Denny's Driveshafts 3 1/2" aluminum MMC aluminum driveshaft w/1350 series yokes.

Centerline Convo-Pro 15 x 4 & 15 x 8.5 wheels with M/T Sportsman fronts (26 x 7.50) and Hoosier 9 x 30 radial slicks out back.

Engine is based on a 427 bbc, but is destroked to 414 ci. compression ratio is 10.5:1 and runs/races on 93 octane pump gas. Heads are GM iron 781 large oval port with 2.19/1.88 valves, 3 angle valve job, bowl blend & intake runner port matched to the Edebrock Victor jr. intake. Mild Comp Cams custom roller cam, Crane roller lifters & Comp Pro-Mag rockers. ALl ARP hardware. Bottom end is GM 427 steel crank offset ground, Manley 6.500" long aluminum rods and custom venolia pistons. ATI SFI balancer, CSI billet water pump, 100 amp Powermaster alternator, GM performance parts cast aluminum valve covers.

Exhaust is Hooker 2" Super Comp headers (ceramic coated), with 3" pipes running to 3" Straightline Performance mufflers.

Fuel system consists of a Harwood 12 gallon fuel cell, Mallory Comp 250 electric pump, Comp 500 filter, #4309 3 port return style regulator and #10 braided steel lines for feed/return. The carb is an 850 race Holley (#8162 List) built by Brad Urban's Carb Shop. Ignition is a MSD billet distributor (dual pickup model), MDS blaster 3 coil, MSD 6AL ignition box and Taylor 409 wires.

This car was built with the best parts available and there is a ton of attention to detail in how the car is built. The car runs 10.66 @ 125 mph in the 1/4 mile, 6.73 @ 101 in the 1/8 mile an 60's 1.47. This is launching at 2500 rpm, shifting @ 6800 rpm, with a race weight of 3500 lbs w/driver. I have in excess of $35k invested in this car as it sits...no expense spared in building the car. Pics are available at http://www.malibumotorsports.cjb.net

Asking $20,500 turn key or $17,500 rolling. If you paid someone to built this car with the parts listed, it would be impossible to duplicate this effort for twice the asking price.
