She sighs and closes her eyes to remember the story clearly,
It started long ago in the ruling of my great-grand sire...

The king was growing weak with age and had but one colt to rule after him. The colt held a great promise to the land, for at the age of 3yrs he was already the best warrior and a steed of charm. In traveling through his lands that he would rule as king one day he came upon a mare, they fell deep in each other's hearts and the old king knew that they would give him the next King of Kane and his son would never rule. The mare soon gave him a colt, his coat was of total black as was his heart. The mare soon was ready to give him another colt, but this time foal bearing didn't go well, both his beloved mare and the new colt died while trying to give birth to him. The stallion took his only colt high into the mountains and raised him to be a great warrior, but he didn't know that his choice was the choice that would cost him his life. As the colt grew into a stallion he started to defy his father's wishes and orders, but he always came to the King who was very old by this time and knew he wouldn't live to see another spring. The old king wanted to keep the traditions and held a Battle on his grandcolt's foal date, the battle was father vs son. The father wouldn't give in and he wouldn't hurt his son, but the son wanted to win, no matter the cost he paid. In the end the son grew angry and attacked his father with no mercy, he killed him within moments and he wispered to his dieing father: "You told me never to look back or feel simpathy for those I killed, and I don't. Not even for you, my pathetic father". The king soon died a few days after the Battle leaving his black-to-the-core grandcolt as King. The new king soon got him a mare of the same blackness in her coat, she soon gave him twins. One twin was a colt, pure blackness and a graceful body he got from his mother, a well muscled body from his father and a charm he got from his grandsire, the King was very pleased with this one. The other twin was a filly, she was pure black to and had the body of her mother, the King wasn't happy that she was a filly and not a colt. He wanted the filly gone at all costs, he arranged with the Shadow Horses to take her and kill her mother if needed. His crull plan was done on the mark of the twins first month, they shoot out of the forest and circled the mother and filly. The mare screamed in terror and Battled them to the death so her filly could be safe, she died trying but the filly wasn't. They took her into the forest and raised her as their own, they even gave her a name of their own, Shadow. She grew and would often travel to the edge of the shadows to see a black colt playing with his younger brother, a golden colt who was named Regal Temtation, they were soon joined by a firey filly who was a match for anyone who made her mad, she was called Fire Devil. Shadow set out on her own to seek happieness, she wondered in the shadows from land to land, watching happy herds with little ones love each other in the sun. She went back to the shadows of Kane to see how her twin brother was and found it in a craze. The horses from surronding areas had attacked and she found her twin a the edge of the forest looking for a way to get out of there. She took him in the forest and lead him though the shadows she knew by heart, as they walked she told him of their story, the one you hear right now, he was amazed because their father told him she died of her weak body. He told her that he was in Kane because their father had died and he was rightfully the king so he had to go back and denonce his kingship to pass it on to their half brother, but the enimies attacked and he didn't know the way to his beloved Rydonna and her new home. As he finished they had reached an edge of the great forest and shadows and she told him to go into this land for it was the land of his love and he was ment to go there, he obayed. She stayed around that area for a reasom unknown to her and soon she saw a stallion who would change her life forever, a stallion who like her had no permenent home, just a wonderer. She loved him with every vein in her body and she went into the light to be with him, and she knew that she had found her perfect fit. Now filly-twin is nolonger a filly, but a mare with a long legged, somke colored colt and a stallion who no one could ever break from her heart. The colt-twin wasn't a colt anymore either, but now the Honorable Prince Black Thunder with a mare he loves with all his heart and maybe soon a foal.

She stood unsteadily for a moment and then took a long drink from the stream and says, That is my story, a long one but it needs to be told sometimes. Our foals will know the story when they are ready and if that is their destiny to know, but if it isn't then they will not know the story. A wise horse once said: "Destinies are like animals, some are fish and some are bears and some are yet others. If the destiny is a fish you don't try to make it a bear by putting it on land and making it eat it's own kind, you let the fish swim and help it along with some food or a gentle push at times." She leans on a tree and waits for his answer.
