Fear
Motions stopped, frozen in time.
Silence screaming in your mind.
Heart pounding in your chest,
the broken twig comes to rest.
Eyes dart from tree to tree,
legs anxious to run, to flee.
Breathing labored, ragged, and hard.
All defenses standing on gaurd.
Eyes burn as you stare,
searching to see what is there.
Down your spine, a deathly chill.
Only an owl, it's haunting shrill.
