In reply to: The name's a joke, you should be flattered asshole! 's message, "Re: "Metal?" Since when are we metal?" on 17:14:45 08/15/03 Fri

This message is in no way directed towards Skrye, I like Skrye. This is directed towards Kris Howes. Nor does this reflect the views of Pinion as a whole. Just Mike.
Ok, little bitch, you want throw threats. That is NOT a smart thing to do. All this shit because Pinion got the good slot at Rockfest 2002? How fucking old are you? Ian saves your ass at Rockfest so you don't look like total idiots(does anyone remember Too Shorts first Berlin appearance?) after I make the offer and get told third person that I am an asshole who wants his hand in everything and now you want to kick his ass? Try it.
How the fuck are we supposed to take the shit you've been spewing on this board? Are we supposed to smile and say "Hey look, someone else signed the message board." and not get pissed. You implied that we were stealing away from Too Shorts glory. Nothing could be further from the truth. We don't need to. We can hold our own anywhere because we know what we are doing. We write what we like and we play what we like. If there is someone that doesn't like us they can stay home and not buy the CD.
As far as ego's go, look in the mirror. We are not rock stars. We know this. I sell sheets. Ian works at Wal*mart. Jason handles produce and Kari works in a library. We don't sit back and get shit faced and trash every other band we know. We are fans of who we play with. We are fans of who we play for. And we are back in the audience when our 45 minutes end. When the audience rocks, we rock. When the audience sucks, I turn around and we play to each other and we still rock. To each other. Because that is what really matters in the end isn't it. You know damn well that rule number one with us is that if one person doesn't like it, we don't play it. We do what we do and it feels good and it comes natural. Monitors or no monitors. Audience or no audience. Lights or no lights. PA or no PA. I used to sing through a fucking guitar amp for christs sake. And live we still got people moving. We feel what we do. Too Short Notice is the same way. THAT is why we are on with them, either of us could play alone and the result would be the same, a good show. Maybe not a historical show but a good performance and inevitable happiness in the end.
Is that why you run your mouth all the time? Because you can't even dream of having what we have. We could have never played out and sat in a basement for four years like Insect God and still rocked. You know, however much you act like a little bitch and make person after person hate you more and more, I will still listen to your cd. Not because it sounds great(it's not bad but not great) but because I dig it. That is what this is all about. Why do you write, so people will think you are cool? ("We have to write another fast one before Rockfest.")
You seem to forget that my house is that of confidentuality. Take a hard look at your merry group of friends. The birdie always seems to find it's way to my window.
When you grow up and start to realize why you are doing this, then maybe you will start to compare. Not your band, you.
