*crouching low over the muscular black's shoulder, she whispers something in his half-cocked ears. to some imperceptible aid the gelding suddenly leaps forward into a rapid gallop. midnight legs flash out, steadying into a quick rythm. the horse's muscles gather and stretch with each stride as he flattens himself out, drinking the wind. soon the powerful gelding is alongside the other horse and rider. breath coming in rythmic snorts that match his strides, the gelding sails ahead, racing for sheer joy. rarely does he get to run his heart out like this. the blonde haired girl holds firmly in her jockey position, rocking with the black geldings powerful strides. with a quick glance back she notices how fast the gelding caught up. flying down the wooded trail, she lets the powerful black gelding run as he pleases, for he has already worked hard. smiling very softly, she waits to see when the other boy will catch up*
