Subject: Tea Bread

2 c. plus 2 tbsp. brewed tea (any type or flavor)
1 c. raisins (if you dont like raisins use the dried fruit of choice)
2 1/2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. black pepper (can delete)
1/2 c. butter
6 tbsp. powdered sugar

Oven 350 degrees
9x5 inch loaf pan greased or lined with parchment paper
Pour 2 c. hot tea over the raisins in a bowl. Set aside. In me. bowl sift all the dry ing. and cut in the butter until well blended. Add tea and raisins and stir until smooth. Pour into the loaf pan and bake for 60-75 min. or tests done. Allow to cool for 10 min., ten remove from pan. Stir together the remaining 2 tbsp. tea with the powdered sugar and with a pastry brush brush over the top of the loaf. Let cool slice and enjoy.
I have used drieed cherries, currants and dried cranberries and all are wonderful
