>My 21-year old daughter has just been diagnosed with BPD. It is still sinking in with me. I immediately bought the book "Stop Walking on Eggshells", I want to absorb and learn everything I can. I am still in shock, as all of the details fit her so perfectly. And, for all these years, I've felt that I have done something to fail as a mother. She has caused such turmoil and upset in this household, I have so much to learn. In a small way, I find some relief in the fact that this wasn't my fault. But, I am still afraid for her because I feel like we have such a long way to go and she is not cooperative at all. I have just been released from a 4-week stay at a mental institution from depression, and have just learned this news. And, yes, a good 60% of her has been the cause. From what I have gathered thus far, there doesn't seem to be very many success stories. Are there? Is there really success in treatment??
Thanks so much for being here. Celina
