So true, but another thing bothers me about this whole business. It wasn't all that long ago when the great oil boom in Texas and the West went bust, oil was so cheap it wasn't worth the money to pump it out of the ground so they capped all the wells. Today those wells are still capped?

Now does it make sense to drill in ANWR which will really be costly to transport, only to find that oil has gotten cheaper or we really use our heads and start really researching other power sources and cap those wells after the damage is done?

The Congress has refused to increase mpg on cars and trucks since Jimmy Carter forced them to in the 70's. The whole thing sounds like a scam.
