Subject: I'm confused!

Perhaps it's my misunderstanding of the gas market.

I live very close to a Mobil gas station station. On Sunday the price for unleaded regular was 2.58.9 per gallon. This morning I went by and it was $3.04.9! They have not had a tanker deliver gas since last Friday. Why then did the gas that was being sold for 2.58 go up to 3.04?
They didn't get charged more for the same gas that's in their tanks did they?
