I was involved with FEMA for many years, including the National Fire Academy, back before bush it was actually run by people who knew emergency management. I can point fingers at something that I knew well, it's a complete embarrassment what has happened to it. I just received a letter from a former head of the organization calling for much needed changes FEMA needs and I'll be working on attempting to return it to the once fine institution that it was.
As far as blaming others, sure it was screwed up by everyone involved, I just have a real bone to pick with FEMA. I'm sure you'd feel the same way Brassman if they screwed up something that you were once involved in and proud of.
