I think that the government is totally different now then it was in the times that we have been reading about. Back then the people had kings that ruled over them and told them what to do, when to do it, and how to do it. The people had no say in how things were done or what the laws were. In the present time we have a president that rules over us, but now we get to vote on laws and express our opinions about how things are done. Education has changed greatly also. Back then all people were not given the opportunity to be educated as we are now. The employment department has changed also. Back then women didn't really work and now most women do work. Also back then there were not as many industries as there are now so therefore there were not as many jobs available for people. I think that perhaps the class system has changed, but honestly for the most part I think it remains very similar. You still have upper, middle, and lower class. The upper class still dislikes dealing with and being around the people of the lower class. People still use material things, wealth, and family background to determine your class.
