Subject: Cane Corsos with children

Hi! I just met my first Cane Corso crew today, and was very impressed. I met with a man in Las Vegas who bred his two dogs, both imported from Italy. He really knew the breed, has owned them all of his life, and spent several hours with my daughter and I. I own a 4 yr. old English Mastiff that I've raised since a puppy, and he is very mellow. I also have a well-behaved 3.5 yr. old daughter. The puppy I fell in love with is a 12 wk. old brindle male, also very mellow. I stayed up all last night researching the internet for info about the breed, and the one cause for concern I have is on yourpurebredpuppy.com, the author stated that he did not recommend this breed with children, as they will protect your child against other children, and that they do have a tendency toward aggression versus the English Mastiff. The other web sites did not indicate this... And how about the idea of having a male puppy with my male adult? This puppy truly is special, and I would really love some info from those of you that are more familiar with the breed. I do not intend to breed or show, but would love to have another member of the family who will fit in with our needs. Can anyone help?
Thank you,
Deanna Oliverio
