Subject: Much better off importing

In response to Guiseppe Cione. I own two Cane Corso's of American bloodlines, decendants of Mike Sottile's dogs. I have heard much about this controversy between Italian and american, but aside from american dogs being slightly larger, with possibly shorter front legs (less reach than italian dogs), and better angulation in the rear, I haven't heard of too many differences. The fact is there is a lot of junk being bred in both Italy and America. The dogs are worth a lot of cash, and many greedy bastards are breeding for cash and not the betterment of the breed. Be careful no matter where you purchase a Cane Corso. I beleive both countries have good and bad specimens. I am interested in combining the qualities of the American and Italian dogs to bring the two different lines a little closer. I would be very interested in hearing the names of some good breeders in Italy, and if anyone is interested I know of some respectable breeders on this continent. Also, If you know of some unethical breeders Mr Cione, why not do the breed and prospective buyers a favour and let us know. I'm sick of the Corso community complaining about bad breeding practises when no one has the balls to come out and challenge any of these breeders or mills. The longer we remain silent, the more junk will enter the gene pool, and soon enough Corso's will be in the same state as Rottweilers and other such popular breeds.
