Subject: New CC owners

A new CC puppy has entered our household! After months of research this is the dog we are sure we will fall in love with. He is the first cane corso but there have been many dominant breeds in the housdehold before him including German Shep, Akita etc. DOes anyone have tips in training esp. areas regarding socialization and dominance and letting puppy know where he fits in the household...are there any techniques that vary far from training other dominant dog breeds? Any severe warnings that differ from most large breed dogs? We have spoken to another owner in the NYC area we randomly met in a dog run who gave us some wonderful information and great tips and this forum is really informative (thank you). We are also interested in knowing where there are shows in and around the NYC area so we can meet other owners as well. The little guy is named Julius and he is a 13 wk old slate grey ('Blue'-looking) CC.
