**the next morning-- the full horde of Aioura was mustered, each painted for war and bristing with weapons. Their faces were barbarically streaked with blue and red, and their fangs dyed the color of blood. Banners fluttered in the strong winds, each emblazoned with the standard-- three bloodstained knives crossed with a scythe blade, with a skull on each side. Bone-white badger skulls surmounted the poles, and hanks of wolf fur flew with the banner, a chilling standard of fear.

Aioura stood at the head of her army. The wildcat raised her scythe, then let it fall, watching her horde surge past her, one massed beast tearing across the land. She threw back her head and laughed triumphantly. She was coming!
