What a challenge, however interesting. How is it said, ”Someone has to do it”.
www.icommodelrxr.com
When a few of us decided to come together and start the International Community of Model Railroaders, a place where all interested and those curious about model railroading, could come together as a community, to talk to each other, share information and knowledge.

Two and a half years and many monies later, this program is ready to bring, the model railroad community as a whole together. It is necessary to accomplish this as a community and not have a leading factor. Therefore an idea has been put in place, and now it is up to you the model railroading community to help design it.

This program does not want, nor will it take the place of clubs, organizations or associations, the purpose if anything is to bring all interested in model railroading together.

To better explain this, would be to understand that the world is changing. An era of information and technology is replacing an era of mechanics, and combustion that started in the 1900’s from the era of the horse and buggy.

The Railroad was a big part of the last era, and the MODEL RAILROADER, is very much a Historian.

We, having an interest in model railroading must strengthen our position and market, by coming together as a community of knowledge and information.

Cost, yes. A small group, who started this program have so far shouldered the starting costs, which have been tremendous. The cost to advance this concept using programs available on the Internet have been collated and evened so that when you join. All will shoulder the same and fair amount. And, It might added, the cost of some of the programs that are being used, for an individual would be staggering.

A couple of interesting comments:

One is to remember when the last era came about. Fisher body, builders of fine stagecoaches stayed with the times and started building Automobile bodies. What a change from their old concept. This is what we want to accomplish.

The second is an observation, and that is that a lot of clubs having to shut down or have the expense of moving, because of overhead cost and insurance, and yes, as a community we can help there. And also the cost of organizations and association are always going up, again because of their overhead cost. The community will have no overhead with exception of programs, web masters and cyber space of which we can control. If their prices advance, then we can move in two seconds.

Please consider this option of coming together as a community. Come aboard at www.icommodelrxr.com The community needs you!
P.S. Please be patient, while the bugs are worked out. It will be up and down for a week or so. But in the end, the model railroad community will have a very strong and lasting place on the Internet
