You are correct Mike. I set up a matrix of each team's schedule and added together the current winning percentages of those teams and calculated the average of those %ages. One thing the numbers could be used for is tiebreakers at the end of the season. Another would be to set up scheduling so that teams with poorer records would be scheduled to play other 'weaker' teams.
You could look at the numbers now and compare them with a given teams record, e.g. if a team is 1-5 with a SoS of .667 then you can see that the team is playing some stiff competition.
