yeah, thats what its there for. To find some younger player that you couldn't get in the draft because of position, or if you have a retirement or an injury. I have found some of my best players off the FA list. Cherry picking is a far cry from throwing out 29 players every year, not to mention the tons of work needed to run a 29 player draft. Its difficult enough to run an 8 round draft.
Its not that I think its a bad idea, if this league were based on the NFL, where the real players play would decide our games, then this format would be a reasonable thing. of course then we wouldn't be drafting linemen.
