Subject: Beast the Website LEAD?

dateline Baton Rouge... "Well, I guess we're causing at least a minor stir at league headquarters" Owner/GM Jimmy Hanlon opened a regularly scheduled press conference. "This is the first time since I joined the league the Beast has made the front page after a weeks worth of games. The #5 power ranking is lofty for this team... but there are still resevations as to our validity to be in such a position. That's OK. We know we control our destiny. We are currently leading our division because we built this team to be there. Make no mistake... we are fully aware that Mississippi, Mobile, and Texas (to some extent) are all capable of winning this division... conversly, the road to the Gulf Division title now goes through Louisiana... and we intend to defend that road to the best of our capabilities. Dudes and Dudettes... we have checked every 'star' RB we have faced this season... we dealt with Benning B4 and a HOT Marquette Smith last week, and put a pounding on him that so broke his spirit that he chose to sit this one out... and we intend to deal with the leagues' best EVERY week this way. There remains the misnomer that Dayton and Madison will square off in the conference title game at our expense... this team, to a man, takes exception to that thinking. Here's why: HB1 Michael Lawrence gets dinged... HB2 Vaugn Innes picks him up. Innes gets dinged, HB3 Tony Burse comes in and catches a 38 yd TD pass. FB1 gets tired, FB2 picks him up... need I go on??? Point is, this team has incredible depth at almost every position... AND we have experienced players with the endurance, intelligence and knowledge to get it done in crunch time... add in the urgency factor (these boys need a ring!) and you now understand why the Beast is carniverous TO THE MAX this season... we are overdue for a title, and falling short of that, we intend to gain the respect for this team this organization has intended all along. I said it in week one, I repeat it now: we are as able to win it all as ANY team in this league... now, we just have to do it. See y'all on the field.
