Just two weeks ago, the Slayers and Warlords slugged it out in Wichita with Springfield emerging the victor 14-12. This week, the Warlords visit Springfield for Round 2 in this very important divisional contest.

Will history (last season) repeat itself with the visitors victorious? In Week 6, the Warlords had 2 turnovers while the Slayers had none. Once again, the team with the most turnovers loses this battle. If the Slayers can avoid any costly turnovers and increase their lackluster third down conversion percentage, then the Slayers can break the trend in this series.

Of course, ‘easier said than done’ can easily be applied here…Wichita is one of the most balanced and best teams in the FIFL. The Slayers will have HB Anthony Simmons back in the starting lineup this week which will definitely help. Thus far, Simmons has accounted for over 700 yards of offense and 7 scores this season.

If Springfield can defeat the Warlords in Week 8, then it will solidify their chances of regaining the division crown and surviving the war that is the Great Plains Division.
