But my daughter woke up and ask If I would watch a movie with her. We watched Neil Simon's "Goodbye Girl" with Richard Dreyfus and Marsha Mason on HBO Comedy channel. It's still a very funny movie even though I've seen it several times over the years. It was my daughter's first time and she laughed plenty, so the humor must transend the years.

When the movie was over, I figured what the heck, my son will be up in about an hour. I may as well stay up too. If I let him wander the house when I'm asleep, he microwaves every cookable item that isn't padlocked in place and he eats every junk food item that isn't bolted down.

If that doesn't keep him amused, then he may experiment to see which plugs a toilet and/or drain faster, a roll of toilet paper or a roll of paper towel. Or maybe he'll just makes wads from them and throw them at the wall to see if they stick. There are numerous other endeavors an 8 yr old will pursue left to his own devices, but they are too frightening to even focus upon!
