Subject: "The Eagles"

I am a fan so it would take a lot to disappoint me and the Eagles didn't do that. They played for almost 3 hrs. last night at the Don Haskin's Center in El Paso to over 12,000 of us and it was in a word "incredible" A mix of their solo efforts and the group's best stuff. They still "got it" The vocals, guitar work, and energy was amazing. They replaced disgruntled (he is suing the band) former Eagle guitarist Don Felder, with a new guy from Virginia that was amazin. Henley and Frey are the cornerstones of the band really so Felder's absence was really noticed. They did take a 1/2 hr intermission, which I had not seen in a rock concert before...kind of like a play. It was a great idea. They came back refreshed and played til almost midnight. They took the stage at 8:15. I didn't even try to take my little digital camera in....security, as one would expect these days, was like that of a President. My only complaint was that Eagles merchandise was "out the roof"....the program was $20....baseball hat $35 and tee shirt $55. I opted for the program and got my soon to be ex-wife a hat. All in all a great night.
