I do probably have a suit and I would probably win. But if I sue, half or more will be lost in court costs and legal fees. I will lose a lawyer whom I have liked immensely up to this point, who is currently representing me in matters that could yield 3 times that amount, who is my family physician's son, and the town attorney's partner (the town owes me money as well). So he knows and I know, I won't sue. The question is whether he can come up with some brilliant way out of this mess. In the meantime he could have been just a little more sympathetic and apologetic for the friggen screw-up of his own office person.
