It doesn't sound like you had that great a night. I can imagine how sad your guys were with the sub-standard apparatus to watch their TV. After one has had color TV and vcr's, all else pales by comparison.

The food is iffy. If it was well frozen, if you never opened the freezer thus preserving temperature as well as possible, if your freezer is a newer well-insulated model and the house was not exceedingly hot; then maybe you are ok. The key is, if you take anything out that is quetionable by appearance or odor, toss it. Also, the big thing with food is not thawing and refreezing. So if anything thawed even to refrig. temp, cook it or toss it.

I have a degree in microbiology and I worked for two years as a chemist/microbiologist in a food processing plant. That's if you are wondering why I sound like a textbook.
