The mother-daughter time was great. One of the dogs had stolen the Dr. Scholls insert from one of my shoes and pulverized it. So 1st we had to run by Meijer's and get a new set. She ran inside for me so I wouldn't have to walk in without my shoes being padded correctly. I had a serious back injury 22 years ago, I've had two back surgeries and have to be very careful not to mess my back up again.

Next we went to the cable company and picked out a new channel package she wanted me to add to our cable service. She used her money from grandma to buy 5 months of a kids and young adults package that includes things like the Disney channel.

We were supposed to eat next, but she said she wasn't hungry enough yet. So we went to a place called Fashion Bug. It's a franchise teenager and women's clothing store. I don't know if you have them or not. They were having a buy 2, get one free sale, plus we have a frequent user 10% off card and some items she liked were marked down. She got two very stylish pairs of jeans, a pair of jean shorts and 3 shirts all for $114. I was real proud of her efforts to find good prices. She tried everything on for me at the store and we had a great time deciding what to get. My daughter is very tall 5'10" so it is hard for her to find clothes that are proportioned to fit her. This is one store where the clothes are youthful, stylish and not too short-waisted in the tops or short-legged on the pants. One pair of jeans had lacing and red stitching, the other had a lot of embroidery, and the shorts had ragged legs, embroidery and rows of those metal stud things above the pockets(I'm so up on fashion terms). All the tops had cute sayings on them, like front/back - angelic/devilish; I'm FBI - fun, beautiful, intelligent; and ANGEL 2002.

We spent so long shopping that we had to rush home to get my son as he got off the bus. I offered to take them someplace nice to eat, but she said picking up ribs would do. We all ventured forth singing songs with the radio. We bought another set of Pokemon trading cards for little brother, picked up some movie rentals and went for a cake. She picked a white Harry Potter cake with pink decorations and cookie dough ice cream. Then, she decided I had spent too much on her and suggested we get french bread, cheese and smoked ham at the grocery deli instead of spending a bundle on ribs. I also got fresh salad and watermelon.

We all came home and had a mini-party with our goodies, watched movies and went to bed early. It was a great day.
