i have only sold one item on e-bay (some unneeded concert tickets) but my husband purchases things almost every day (roman artifacts). it is very easy by following the step by step instructions and as for shipping, i just looked around at similar items, saw what others were charging and came up with a number. in the end, i believe i spent maybe $.40 more than what i had charged her for shipping/handling. it doesn't have to be exact and you don't have to have proof for what you're charging. just try to come up with a good estimate.

also, although i've heard of people having problems (rare), my husband has never, ever had a problem with all of his dealings with e-bay. they have a system where you give feedback on the person you deal with (if you're the buyer, then you would give feedback on the seller, and vice versa). if someone bids on an item you are selling and they have a bad rating due to poor feedback, then don't complete the sale.

good luck.
