Ritika Ramtri Kumar, Pageant Coach-The Tiara Pageant and Model Training Studio was in to Cochin in Kerala to train the Vivel Miss Kerala 2008 Pageant which was held on 11th July 2008. The event which is organized by Impresario Events is 8 years old and an established pageant its own right. Miss Kerala is a beauty pageant with a difference and presents to the rest of the world, not merely the talent and confidence of the youth of Kerala but the beauty of Kerala itself. The pageant symbolizes the transformation of the women of Kerala .For centuries they have been hardworking housewifes in dark, smoky kitchens. This pageant personifies the newly discovered freedom of expression and talent .Since 1999 onwards, Miss Kerala has been the glamour event Kerala looks forward to. In 2002 the Miss Kerala contest even took place in Dubai. The objective of the contest is no longer to look for only the most beautiful and talented person, but also to look for the one person who could be the ambassador for the Malayalees.
Every year the Miss Kerala organizers try and add value to the pageant by getting celebrity judges and trainers. For the Miss Kerala 2008 pageant they have tied up with The Tiara, in a bid to give more professional training to the contestants. Ritika Ramtri Kumar groomed these beautiful southern beauties in the various disciplines of pageantry. She conducted modules on personality enrichment, body language, diction, grooming, confidence building, pageant walk and stance, posture and deportment, fine dining, social graces, winning techniques and other pageant related topics.

We are from the Times of India Group, the organizers of the FEMINA MISS INDIA PAGEANT. Femina Miss India is an annual, national beauty pageant held in India with a heritage of over four decades. This year we are conducting an exclusive Pageant for the Southern Segment of India called the Femina Miss India South to be held in December in Hyderabad. The winner of the pageant gets a direct entry into the final round of the Femina Miss India Pageant of 2009 which is held in Mumbai.

The 2008 MISS INTERCONTINENTAL beauty pageant will take place on 25TH October 2008 in the music and festival domain Zebraze, Poland. The pageant will start on the 7TH October and will last till 26TH October. It will bring the countries closer together and will give an opportunity to share universal values and define together a common deal of elegance and beauty.
The last winner from India for MISS INTERCONTINENTAL was Lara Dutta who won the MISS INTERCONTINENTAL crown in 1997 in Germany. This year 70 countries will participate to win the most expensive crown in the field of beauty pageants. The contestant for this years MISS INTERCONTINENTAL pageant from India will be Sonia Jain. This years delegate Sonia Jain was nominated by her national director Ms.Ritika Ramtri Kumar, Pageant Coach of THE TIARA. She believes that the most important values such as unconditional love forgiving nature and loyalty can be learnt from animals.

Femina Miss India East Pageant to be held in December at Kolkata.
We at Angelz Models are always striving to ensure that upcoming models dont miss a single chance of promoting their career. We are sending the following message received from Femina for Miss India East Pageant :
We are from the Times of India Group, the organizers of the FEMINA MISS INDIA PAGEANT. Femina Miss India is an annual, national beauty pageant held in India with a heritage of over four decades. This year we are conducting an exclusive Pageant for the Eastern Segment of India called the Femina Miss India East to be held in December in Kolkata. The winner of the pageant gets a direct entry into the final round of the Femina Miss India Pageant of 2009 which is held in Mumbai.
The eligibility criteria for participation in the pageant is as follows:
ุ Age - 18 to 23 years as on 31st December, 2008
ุ Nationality - Indian
ุ Height - 5 feet 7 inches and above
ุ Marital Status - Unmarried
ุ Education - Graduate or in the process of Graduating
ุ Should be either a resident or born from any Eastern region of India

Some updates on ex-Miss India's and where they ended up after their glorious, or not-so-glorious year.
Lymaraina D'Souza offers Sensual Fusion a world of talent and expertise in counseling psychology and effective outreach. A native of Mumbai, India, this dynamic, outspoken savant was awarded the 1998 Femina Miss India title, going on to place seventh at the Miss Universe 1998 pageant. Flooded with glamorous film and modeling offers from around the globe, she opted to pursue her passion for making difference in people's lives on a personal level. She earned her bachelor's in psychology from Hawaii Pacific University, where she received intensive training in domestic violence advocacy. She has since worked assisting parents at the Make-a-Wish Foundation, acting as a patient-doctor liaison at the Legion of Mary's Children's and Women's Hospitals, mentoring teen girls at Ashadaan, and advocating for abuse victims with the Eastside Domestic Violence Program.
Based just outside of Washington, DC with her husband and three children, Lymaraina is a home-based counselor offering clients a bio-psycho-socio-cultural assessment to dilemmas. She is currently wrapping up her master's degree in counseling with a sexuality focus, and is thrilled to be part of the Sensual Fusion team.

Then Ifound out about HPU through some students I met and learned that the University was even more diverse. Four years of living and learning with students from so many cultures will prepare me more for life than anything I could imagine. The faculty and staff have been extremely helpful, and I feelas if I'm receiving a practical education. I look forward to my time at HPU. Ms. Jade Eden, 19 crowned Miss Young International England leaving behind other 25 beauties from across central London. Other special winners includes: Ms. Anna Sutton 1st Runner-Up and Yasmin Alexandra 2nd Runner-Up. This years Miss Young International England will participate in the world finals come December 2008 at the MISS YOUNG INTERNATIONAL in Manila Philippines.

Gosh....most of the delegates for Miss World 2008 have been selected....and quite regrettably.. this year is the weakest batch EVER!!! Not a single outstanding beauty.
The only girl who comes close to be Miss World is Miss Iceland but I am not sure if those pics are photoshopped apart from her ... the rest are all ordinary looking girls... Parvathy is good but not outstanding at all. I think one of the reason why the batch is so weak is because most of them are runner-ups ... recently a lot of winners (specially in Europe) have declined their participation in Miss World as a result... their runner-ups have been placed in to represent.
RAHUL and others.... HOW MANY OF YOU AGREE>? However... i am sure... the show will be spectacular as usual...

does any1 know that femina miss india earth 2003 shweta vijay is coming out wth her music album by dec this year...and i blv shes da bomb in it...and also her hollywood movie 'the good sharma' wth pankaj kapur, billy connely and joan allen will be out by feb 2009... cant wait to see some new pics of her...she was gorgeous

I think Parvathy has already got her much needed nose correction. It's quite obvious from the pictures above. I applaud her for doing it. I am sure it's a personal decision. FMI/TOI might make suggestions but it's ultimately down to the girl itself. It's a personal decision. Besides it's not as if she's trying to attain perfection. She's just correcting a severely hooked nose.
As for Tanvi, she obviously does not want to get the deviated septum on her nose corrected and we should respect that decision. She is a pretty girl there's no doubt. But I guess she's taking the risk that beauty pageant judges will see past that facial feature. That's her decision. In real life she's still pretty, but in the pageant world, it's a different ballgame, so it's a risk she seems willing to take.
But the one thing I truly don't understand is the mentality that many FMIs have (with the exception of some like Amruta and Swetha): "I will wait till FMI trainers start the 3-week pre-international-pageant training to get my body in shape, I won't do anything now." YOUR BODY IS NOT GOING TO CHANGE IN ONE MONTH!!!! It takes at least 3 months to see visible results!!
