The new Malaga hash as portrayed to us all originally seemed a good idea and a reasonable solution to the differing views of hashers in the area.
For this portrayal to degenerate even before it has started into an exclusive club that refuses admitance to hashers is, from my research, unique and regrettable. A fundamental tradition in hashing is the warm welcome given to any hasher at any meet. Its a basic part of the enjoyment and spirit of hashing.
Constructive criticism is always healthy in any group of people working towards a common purpose and should never be dissuaded. To do so is dictatorship.
My main thrust here is that I, and many other Mijas Hashers, are sorely dissapointed. The email as printed above, and I apologise for my dissection of the sentences, is somewhat acidic and petulant in nature.
Firstly to use the word audacity as it does implies strongly that the writer has an elevated opinion of himself/herself and considers it shocking that someone could actually take issue with him/her.
Fuck off can never be said maliciously, fuck of is fuck off. To add an adjective shows an unnatural emotive reaction. To use the word repeatedly when the phrase was used twice, and the second time when WB asked him to repeat it is incorrect and once again shows an unnecessary emotive reaction. The 'public' venue referred to was a hash committee meeting.Again emotive reaction.
If the writer is really interested in securing the best interests of hashing in this area then let us put an end to the bickering and pettiness. Let us all accept that we are not perfect and cannot always have our own way. Let us all grow up, go out for a beer together, shake hands, agree to differ, if we must, but let the animosity and self proclamations of perfection end.
