Lyrics: Great, thanks. I didn’t want to be harsh and say, “Don’t write them,” but they really were distracting. Reading dialogue and reading lyrics use different parts of my brain, and it was difficult to switch back and forth. It was like having a conversation with someone and being repeatedly interrupted by a person spouting poetry. I can process one or the other, but not both at the same time.

Grammar: Hope I didn’t sound too “school-marm”. I don’t flip out whenever someone uses a preposition at the end of a sentence or whatever, but following basic rules makes the writing so much clearer.

I liked the humor of “Dissonant,” and quite a shocker at the end!

“Unreality” had a great premise, although I didn’t follow why some things were changed. Why didn’t Tara die? I don’t recall Anya having much effect on the trio’s activities. A little flashback or explanation on that would have been nice. Still, the loss of Tara again was a heartbreaking scene.

I’m also intrigued by the implication that helping Buffy is endangering Xander’s career. It’s something that was touched upon in “Life Serial” and “Hell’s Bells,” and I’m glad it’s been picked up as a theme here. It’s a fresh slant on “Buffy inadvertently puts her friends in danger.” And it goes along with the adult themes BtVS has been addressing. Losing your job is no big deal when you’re a teen, but it’s an issue when you’re twenty-something and supporting yourself.

As for the X/B thing…I enjoyed it at first; it was sweet and cute. It’s less entertaining now. How many times can these two save each other’s lives? Even Angel didn’t save Buffy this much. The Freudian slips and accidental embraces are getting to be a little tiring. We’ve been down this road before. But I’ll reserve judgment until I see where the story is going.
