Well, I can't say I've "made peace" with LQ, because as far as I'm concerned, she and I were never at war (in fact, I've always been one of those who rolls her eyes whenever she hears something that happens online referred to as a "war"--but that's just my personal 'net philosophy speaking). I wrote the first parody of her work, and I'm not sorry for that, but I doubt she even knows who the hell I am.

But don't you agree that the mere existence of the site is, in itself, a form of badgering? Can't you inform people what "from the gecko" means without having to have a site devoted to archiving all of her incoherent rants and absymal fic? I don't understand how someone can be against mocking her and yet still condone the existence of the shrine. Maybe I'm just stupid--could someone please explain to me how the shrine is *not* in and of itself a form of mockery? It sure as hell isn't a celebration of LQ; simply by posting her hilariously godawful fic, you've (and I'm using the general, plural "you" here) shown the world what a mockable writer she is. I don't see how any literate person could go in there, read everything that's posted, and come out with a positive opinion of LQ's writing ability or mental state. If you don't want her flaws on display for the rest of the world to laugh at, don't display them.

Maybe it would be best to post a sticky thread or just a thread that's continually bumped up to the top of the forum that says "If you want to talk about LQ, please go to [whatever mb is attached to the shrine]." Seems to me that would be much more effective than posting the odd message within other threads about how you're tired of hearing about it. (And for the record, some of us thought the joke was old *long* before everyone here came on board. The recent reposting of her stories? Puh-lease. Like that one hadn't been done three times before.) That's just a suggestion, btw. I'm not trying to tell you how to run your site. It just seems like the most effecient way to accomplish what you want to accomplish. Not everyone that comes here will know that there are boards devoted to this discussion elsewhere, and that after almost a year of mocking LQ on this board, the mods have decided they want it to stop. I think your best bet is to post an announcement that's clear for everyone who comes, regulars and newbies alike.
