Well, yeah, that she's psychotic (ie, that she's out of touch with reality) is a given. With ADD, you can mix up words and come up with some rather interesting comments, such as saying "I want to get your salad with Joe" instead of "I want to get your picture with Joe". For me, when I mix up words like that, it's because I've been thinking about salad recently, and the word slips in. When someone points it out to me, I'll correct myself, because I know what I *meant* to say. Another symptom is blathering on and on and on and on and never getting to the point. We do that because we'll start at Point A, and something we say will remind us of something else, and we'll get off on tangents that go to Far East Bumbleweed via Most Southern Backwater, and we never get to Point B, because we've forgotten where we were headed in the first place. From what I heard of her talking on the voice chat the other night, she doesn't get off the road from Pt A to Pt B, she just goes into an endless loop about Pt A or something that comes up along the way, and you just need to say "Jen!", and she's right back on topic. You don't have to pull her back to the main road. I don't know how good her memory is or if she's easily distracted, so I won't comment on that.

Other symptoms: Can't organize worth a damn, has trouble keeping sustained attention/focus (unless it's something novel and facinating, in which case we can focus on it for hours), your name may as well be "Earth to !" because you're always off in your own little world and it can take a nuclear blast at times to make you come back down to reality, you're all gung-ho for a task at the beginning, but unless you're kept on task, you'll wander off and loose interesst and go do something else that seems more interesting, you *need* strict structure in order to be successful. For me, I do best with academics in a school setting, because I have outside structure keeping me going and motivating me, but I don't do well with home study stuff because I only answer to myself, and that usually just breaks down and I don't finish what I start.

That's the inattentive type. Then there's hyperactive-impulsive, but that's a whole other category. For those who are truly interested in knowing what, exactly, defines AD/HD, you can go here: http://lib-sh.lsumc.edu/fammed/intern/adhd.html It's the official psychiatric diagnostic criteria.
