Subject: Beware Models, Agent scam going on, please read

There is a "personal manager" going around on the net soliciting
models male
and female. His group info is below. He has solicited me for work and
may
have solicited you. Here is his scam.

facts:

He has models pay up to $450 to sign with him. He usually operates
off a
verbal contract. Doesn't issue a receipt, He charges 20% commission
per
modeling job he gets you. He only has a p.o. box and not a physical
address.
He doesn't have or operate with a business license. He has the models
pay for
photo shoots. He has the models pay for Comp cards. He claims to have
inside
connections in the modeling industry (ie.. a brother who works for a
repituable
agency).

Information/claims:

Models have traveled at their own expense from out of state to meet
with him,
only to find they were getting hit on and insulted. When he is
approached
about his business practices he says "I am a personal manager not an
agent, I
give advice" My question is when did advice cost so much? I can only
relate
this to women who get their hair done by hairstylist, they are free
to go to
other hairstylists as this is a service not a contract provided to
them, the
clients. Well a personal manager who "only gives advice" should not
lock the
models into agreements, charge them up front fee's plus commissions
on work
they get, plus have them pay for shoots and comp cards, where is the
justice?

Another thing is where is all his business being operated out of? He
doesn't
have a website other than a free yahoo group, his email address is
via aol, he
has an 888 number, a p.o. box, how would someone get in contact with
him, he
could disappear at any time.

The better business bureau has never heard of his name or his so
called company
name.

Needless to say that if he approaches you about being a "hot girl
model" be
forewarned that it could be a bad mistake.
