THREE ACTRESSES NEEDED FOR FILM IN CHICO, CA

JIHAD is a film adaptation of the successful stage play (written by the original author) about a time in the not-too-distant future, when most of America is in quarantine as a result of biochemical terrorism.
PRODUCING COMPANY: Rosan Hayworth, Ltd.
PRODUCTION DATE: June/July, 2003.
DETAILS: 30-minute independent film.
CAST: Three actresses, 18-26 years old.
THE STORY: Infected by an unknown virus, Cleo and Terry have been locked in an abandoned basement fallout shelter for many months. With only an old record player and each other to fill the countless hours, they have forged an odd and complex interdependent relationship from their fantasies and games. Unexpectedly, the newly-infected Mel is thrown into their makeshift home. Wanting nothing but to return to the outside world, Mel nonetheless poses a threat to the lifestyle and relationship Cleo and Terry have established, and quickly becomes a pawn in a much more immediate game of life and death.
SHOOT SCHEDULE: One day of rehearsal (with lines memorized), one day of shooting. Once live auditions are held and a cast is in place, the rehearsal and shoot dates will be finalized.
If we have received your photos, resume and contact information, and you if it appears you would one of the three available roles in the film, we will contact you by mid-to-late June for a live reading from the script in Chico (in some cases, a video audition may suffice).
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS: By its nature, the subject matter of JIHAD is a mature and the story includes some strong language, violence and adult situations. If you are not comfortable with PG-13 or R-rated films, please do not apply.
COMPENSATION: Travel expenses will NOT be paid for the audition or the shoot. Compensation for the two day project will consist of screen credit, recognition in all promotional materials and DVD/VHS copies of the film. NO travel expenses will be paid for the audition or shoot.
AUDITIONS: When all applications have been reviewed, producers will contact those they wish to read. Tentative audition dates will be mid June.
