Bất kỳ sách baó nào trước 1975 Thư Viện đều có lưu trữ vì có 2 lý do:
(1) Thư viện có ngân quỹ hàng năm (Ðông Nam Á) để mua các sách baó lưu trữ
(2) Sau 1975, Thư Viện vẫn tiếp tục làm chuyện này cho đến năm 2001 vì vị Giám Ðốc đặc trách về Á Châu là ngươì Việt Nam. Vị này mơí về hưu đầu năm 2002 nên ns không biết thêm được chi tiết sau đó ; Các nhà sách xuất bản taị Hoa kỳ đã mượn sách cuả Thư Viện (trước 1975) sao laị rôì taí xuất bản taị Mỹ
