The Blue Fox Inn

Hello and welcome, I am your OOC host, the Educator. I set this board up so that people could come to improve their RPing skills, newbie or not. Feel free to RP at your leisure, or discuss with others certain aspects of role play. The setting I've decided on for this board is an inn. An old wooden sign hangs over the door, with the words painted in now fading blue and gold: "The Blue Fox" Below the words a rough picture is drawn of a standing fox, coloured all blue. A dirt road runs by the door of the inn. The surrounding landscape is heavily wooded, with a clearing nearby where a small river runs past. Feel free to RP at any of these places, though make sure you specify where your char is.
Just a few rules apply:

No swearing (with the exception of Redwallian curses)
No un-Redwall related site spamming
Just be courteous to the other RPers
And stick to the basic ROC rules
Oh, and be willing to learn. No one's perfect, you can always improve on skills.

A large cart squeaks to a halt in front of the inn, gaily-colored pennants fluttering in the storm-driven wind as the faded lettering on its side is dampened even more by the spilling of the troupe's last flagon of cordial over the edge of the cart. A lanky, big-footpawed long-eared hare was trying to erect the cart's cover, failing miserably and tripping over everything in sight. Snupp, the hedgehog, put his head in his paws, giving Jaysoun, the hare, an exasperated look. Two burly otters unbuckled themselves from the front of the cart, where they had been pulling it through the sticky mud. Giving Jaysoun a paw, they hauled him upright and set to work, untying the rope which held the canvas down and stretching it over the metal rings which made the roof of the cart. Jaysoun poked his head out, noticing the sign.

"Wot ho, a blinkin' inn!! Jus' our blinkin' luck, wot!! C'mon, troupe, get yore tails movin' an' let's go an' perform, an' get some flippin' dinner in th' process!"

Ikye and Rigg, the two otters, helped the rest of the troupe out of the cart. There was Snupp, the hedgehog, Jain the mousemaid, and Flyp and Flye the two acrobatic squirrelmaids. Last was Sequoia, the large badger who needed no help at all to get out of the cart.

Entering, Jaysoun announced in his best stage voice:

"Preeesenting, theee one, theeee only, Spectaculare Travelling Mossflower Troooooupe!!"

Hello! Welcome to my humble abode. I know how daunting it may be for some to post on an empty board, so I'm starting to ball rolling. I thought it might be good to start of with a bit of a role-play. I was sent here by Rippers of the INSU MB... *Sits back and relaxes a bit, setting a big bladed staff off to one side* Lately, with all the crazy things people have been trying to pull off, I'd think it'd be a great idea for someone to set things the way RPing should be with people who don't know the roots, and to correct the mistakes that existing RPers (good and bad) continually perform. I've been trying to RP the right way (and get others to do so as well) for awhile now, so now here I might be able to do something for everyone else...
Anyway, my opinion (which everyone will grow to love) is that ROC deaths are final, but they can be remembered and talked about (it's not like they're dead and never spoken of again), and that any inter-species mates are just weird... and best not be spoken of.

A "yes" to both. Once your alt is dies, you cannot bring him/her back. They are dead. Some people resurrect them...but that's just wrong...it's basically god-moding if you bring them back. That's my view. And to the funerals...certainly. What friend would leave their buddy to rot where he died? I have a question about mates and such. Do you believe in inter-species mating(i.e.; otter-hare, mole-squirrel)? I've been seeing much of it lately and I don't really mind but I've noticed that Brian Jacque's books have never had any like that, they've only had ones in the same species or ones like mouse-fieldmouse. Thank you for your opinion!

I don't believe in it, myself. And if someone did have an interspecies marriage, they would not be able to have babies. Same rules usually apply in the Redwall world as in ours. Their DNA wouldn't match and so they wouldn't be able to have kids.....so I find it wrong that some people have alts that are cross-species. (NT) -- The Educator, 10:53:11 04/29/02 Mon
