It was the day when the mackems were fantastically shafted by two of their own inbreds in public.

Wearsider, Clive Mendonca had devastated the mackems by taking them to penalties with a hat-trick and it was left to homegrown Michael Gray to fluff his penalty to ensure our season ended on an unexpected high as Charlton won promotion 7-6 on penalties.

No Swindon scandal to reprieve them this time, just pure unadulterated heartache.
