Subject: AND what was wrong with the old program?
In reply to: Lezlee 's message, "Nick is working on a program that would crown the KING of street racing in DFW." on 07:30:21 06/22/02 Sat

What was wrong with the old one? Seems the big question was whether or not the participants were actual street cars or not. Just because some of us own TWO vehicles or don't drive our hotrods to work everyday doesn't mean we don't own street cars. Some of the whiners suggested that some of us needed to be in the KOTH. BIG difference in them and us is mainly about $40,000.00! There's going to be problems with any kind of program you put together. You'll never keep everyone happy but if you run a program that keeps out people that REALLY DO street race you'll never get the respect you deserve either. You can't just cater to the throngs of people who aren't old enough to remember when Dallas was one of the best places to find a streetrace. Trailer cars were always a part of FAST street racing and ALWAYS will be! Be careful when you say that they can't drive them though! Most of us can unload and drive with the best of them. Just like at one of the last KOTS when a guy questioned another racer about the streetability of his car. When he said it couldn't be drove to Ft Worth from the track he was asked to put money where his mouth was and he backed up!
Anyway, sorry to get off on a rant there but no one seems to be saying anything and nothing seems to be getting done. Thought I'd at least start a fight! lol!
