Subject: Hey PS2 owners! Wanna waste $20?

As I've stated here before, I've had trouble with the pisstacular DVD playback on my PS2. So, I've been thinking about picking up the PS2 remote, which comes with updated DVD drives which according to a number of people, takes care of many of the PS2s DVD problems. So I'm at Wallymart tonight, and I see the remote there and think, what the hell. $20 is sure cheaper than just buying a $100-$200 DVD player. And heck, I'll have yet another remote to add to my rediculous collection. (this makes 5!)

So, I get home and install it. As soon as it's done, I grab the DVD that gives my PS2 it's worst indigestion.... Tenamonya Voyagers. You see, it has always played eps. 1 and 2 just fine, but won't play 3 or 4 AT ALL. Just makes a bunch of sickly whirring sounds, then it starts making loud clicking noises, and then finally it tells me it can't play the DVD.

So, with new DVD drives installed... I put the dvd in. Select ep 3 from the menu... wait a few seconds...... *WHIIIIIIRR........WHIIIIIIIIIIRRRR......clickclickclickclickclick* Needless to say, many curses followed.

Okay, so that one didn't work. Doesn't mean it won't help on some of the others. So, I grab another DVD that gives my ps2 trouble... Cowboy Bebop vol 1, specifically ep 5. It used to skip and jump crazily. Now, it acts like it can't play ep 5 AT ALL.

So, I tried a few more and... it seems to have actually made it worse. If I ever meet the CEO of Sony, he'll be lucky if permanantly putting my boot up his ass is ALL I do to him.

You get the picture... to make matters worse, the remote isn't that good. It got TINY buttons, and just doesn't feel good in your hand the way some remotes do.

I guess I do have one positive thing to say... the new advance/search rate is much better. It now has 3 speeds, as opposed to just "Sloth covered in caramel" like it used to.
