Subject: Yujin Capcom Vs. SNK capsules review

When i first saw pictures of these floating around on-line they didnt really grab me as being that fantastic. The pictures of the set, really don't do these justice. I thought they were kind of "ok" and about the size of the Vampire savior sets. Nope, these are big, and have great paint applications. I saw them assembled and on display for the first time yesterday at a store, and as soon as I saw them i had to get em. Size wise they seem to blend in perfect with the banpresto capcom girl gift bag figures.

The First thing that grabbed me about the set was the great paint apps. Most photography of these doesn't really catch it, but these have nicley done "air brushed" effects all over. Very subtle but handled very well. Gives the figures more depth than the usual flat paint apps.

The other great thing about the set that i mentioned above is they are about the same size as those Banpresto Bag figures. There slightly bigger, but display wise you probably wouldn't care unless you were going over your shelves with a micrscope. Cammy who's in sort of the most "normal" pose clocks in at a hair under 4 inches, and everyone else is scaled around that. Except for Bison/Vega he's to small to be in scale with the girls, he's actually smaller than the girls.

Heres a quick run down on each

Cammy - best in the set, excellent paint apps, excellent sculpt, simple, but extremly well done. Also thumbs up for my favorite cammy costume.

Yuri- Second best, also simple, but the paint apps make the figure. Pretty dynamic pose as well, and has camel toe action going on as my friend pointed out. Must be some sort of secret fighting technique...

Mai- very good figure, comes with an alternate flame attack thingy but i don't use it cause it sort of looks like she's lighting a fart.

Chun Li- Good sculpt, but it's a bit too action posed, and isn't stable unless yuri's hooked to her or you use an uglt stand it comes with. She's still pretty good tho, nice color on the boots a bit of a pearl instead of the usual flat white.

Geese - Geese would be great, but the one i got, has messed up pants. The one on display at the stores was fine, but the one i have was warped due to being stored in the capsule. It's fixable i just need to use some hot water to bend it back to what it's supposed to be like or i can just glue it. Really funny thing about Geese is they didnt just make his pants a solid piece [which would have worked much better structurly] but they sculpted his legs underneath so you can check out geese panties, or just make him fight pantsless. Now you can't say video games are sexist cuz everybody wears thongs. I took the liberty of posting the disturbing the pantsless geese picture. Something about that facial expression and not wearing pants that strikes me as comedy gold.

M. Bison/Vega - Sucks. The sculpt isn't that great, kind of loose, and the paint isnt that fantastic, and he's out of scale. I'd say avoid him, but you'll probably get stuck with him if you buy a set.

Now that i know how big these are, and how great the first series turned out I'm looking forward to series 2. I hope God Rugals' to scale, and I'm a little bummed they picked Maki she's sooooo lame, and dumb looking, I i wish they woulda gone with Kyosuke or Akuma instead of her. These are a great buy, i got them for 17.50$, and these make the capcom gift bag girls look like a total rip off cause they have better sculpts and paint jobs and are a fraction of the price.
